38 cm RW 61 on assault mortar »Sturmtiger«
One of the very first armour modeling kits I bought was the 1/32 scale Monogram-kit of the assault tank 43 »Brummbär«. As then was usual with Monogram, to the kit was added a folder with pictures of a diorama which had been created by Sheperd Paine. Since then I have been fascinated by that piece of art.

Although I took over the general layout I still did not want to produce a mere copy but rather give something like my own »interpretation«. Apart from choosing the more powerful »Sturmtiger« as the main subject, I was going to change at least two things: I wanted the roadwheels of the Panzer to move visible over the rubble, and I wanted to shape a house built from bricks. These two elements demanded a considerable amount of work. In order to achieve my aims I was going to make full use of the various possibilities offered by the present modeling market like single track links, super-detail kits, special diorama accessoires, etc.
